Hi all looking for a tune for Tors K&N filter and Meerkat bypass 2011 1600. Its all new to me just want to get rid of excess popping on deceleration. What is the easiest platform to use and what's the cost. Is this just as close as getting on the Dyno

Webby, there is a tune repository under this heading. Near the top. Some people found a decel pop tune working just fine. Others with a knowledgeable tuner can add fuel on decel to rid the pop using a PCV. If a member name leethal chimes in, you will have a better understanding

G'day Shaun. If you are tech savvy you can learn to use the free software TuneEcu, plenty of info on that here. There are some tunes in the library that are good. If you don't want to go that way the best result is to find a competent dyno tuner and have it done right. Mine is the same set up as you except for filter, I prefer the stock paper one, and I played around with a PCV and Autotune for a couple of years but ended up getting it dyno tuned and it's been great ever since. No popping, smooth throttle response and a small increase in HP and torque.

I think the best 1600 tune on here is Aussietbird's, but you will need the above software and cable to install it.

Lee, what's the difference between Aussietbirds tune and the 1600 TOR tune?

Never drink from a cow with one udder! 2010 1600 Blue&White ( of course ) Long TORS and HP filter.

Mate I haven't opened Mick's tune but I would assume it has much better fueling in the right areas, the tors is still a lean tune which is why the exhaust still pops on decel, plus it would give a much better and smoother throttle response.

I can't say yes or no, I know little about tuneboy. Power Commander tunes have been converted for TuneEcu so who knows. Not much info on TB.

Loads of differences.

In the AFR, mapping significant more fuel added, resulting in an almost (well on my bike) perfect 13.5:1 AFR across the full range of RPM.

Modified ignition maps resulting in (with the addition of more fuel) a smoother and more responsive power delivery. As well as an added advantage of an engine that runs a hellva lot cooler. Because we know (don't we) that by adding fuel slows the burn, thus more advance is required to compensate.

Modified F/L switching Map, which suits me, may not suit everybody but it suits me with my 99% highway riding 1% urban rubbish.
Has removed that horrid fluttering caused by the switching between F and L open and closed EFI fueling at low speed/low throttle position.

Shaun, TuneECU software is no longer free, and they seem to be having a hell'va lot of issues at the moment with the newer Android version.

If you can find a old windows version on the internet shit thing, these days it IMHO would be the go. However, in my experience with TuneECU and the windows version works very very well, but only because I have a dedicated taptop with windows 7 and 2 tuning programs on it one for each bike, with no internet shyte thing connected.

I had some issues a while back when it was connected to the net, when updates came in they buggered up file names and locations. Took for ages to sort out the mess.

Im kinda liking the Tuneboy alternative, especially and I have yet to have it confirmed by anyone, that 3 tunes can be loaded. Now that would be interesting.

Cool thanks for that Fab.

Was kinda thinking along the same lines, but my 3rd would be oh shit, crap fuel.
